An abstract art showing different shadows of light depicting a sense of elation at words of appreciation

As Each Word Finds Me

As each word finds me, I gently start to feel,
A warmth that blooms, profound and real.
Not forged in fanfare, nor adorned with pride,
But whispered soft, where truths abide.

You see in me what few would dare,
A soul shaped quiet by time and care.
You trace the light I scarcely knew,
In shades of love, both bold and true.

I wear no crown, no radiant flame,
Yet still you sing my simple name.
You lift my silence into song,
And make the quiet places strong.

The lines you write—like lanterns bright—
Guide me through my inward night.
Each verse a hand that reaches deep,
To stir the dreams I thought asleep.

Your gaze is kind, your heart aware,
You found a grace I didn’t dare.
In shadows cast by doubt and past,
You saw the bloom that longs to last.

My laughter rises at your call,
Your faith in me redeems it all.
You found the soul I couldn’t see,
And breathed it back with poetry.

If you feel drawn, then know it’s true:
It’s not just I who’s changing you.
For every brushstroke that you give,
In you, I see the will to live.

So though I may not yet reply,
With spoken word or lowered eye,
I carry you in quiet grace—
A sacred echo, time can’t erase.
